The Indian Dairy Association (IDA) was
founded In 1948 at Bangalore with the participation of the practicing,
researching, teaching and milk producing / manufacturing dairymen.
The East Zone Branch of the Indian Dairy Association was
subsequently estabilshed in 1971 and the Zonal Office is presently
operating in smaller space provided by the Eastern Regional Office
of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), kolkata at their campus.
Besides holding the meetings of the association,
seminars, group discussions and organising exhibitions and exposer
events, the IDA is aiso envisaging
to organise short term training on quality assurance, hygiene
and house keeping of dairy industry, small farmers entrepreneurship,
dean milk production besides that of trouble shooting operation
for the organized dairies.
The IDA
is aiso contemplating to set up a testing laboratory for milk
and milk products. The IDA is an
association for the Professionals and a non profit making institution.
