Welcome to Indian Dairy Association (EZ)

The Indian Dairy Association (IDA) was set up in the year 1948 with the objective to establish a forum for professionals, scientists, farmers and equipment manufacturers in the field of dairy and allied agro-food business to provide opportunities for the dissemination of knowledge and ideas in research, planning, production, processing, and marketing and so forth. IDA's Head Quarter is in Delhi and the east zone branch is in Kolkata.

IDA (East Zone) has been providing a common forum to knit the dairy fraternity together and thus, over the years, it has emerged as the reigning czarina of information. The Association is headed by Chairman - Prof. A. K. Bandyopadhyay and supported by Vice-Chairman - Mr. T. K. Das, 17 Executive Committee Members and total no. of members - 288 as on date.

IDA (EZ) has emerged, other than a platform for assimilation and dissemination of knowledge, as an important tool for policy making in the dairy sector, in Eastern India! Besides, the IDA (EZ), in the recent time, has also succeeded to focus itself at the national and international fora.

The IDA (EZ) organises seminars, symposia and exhibitions on a wide range of topics catering to various segments of professionals, scientists, institutions and organisations associated with the development of dairying in India.

IDA(EZ) Organises One Day Regional Workshop

The Indian Dairy Association (EZ) in association with National Productivity Council, Kolkata, organized a One Day Regional Workshop on “ Efficient Operation & Maintenance of Boilers” on 15th December, 2011, at NDDB (ER) BOHO Hall , Salt Lake, Kolkata.

Prof A K Bandopadhyay, Chairman, IDA(EZ), welcomed the participants at the Workshop. Sri G Namchu, IAS, Managing Director, West Bengal Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd. was the Chief Guest and spoke on the need for conducting such workshop. Sri A K Sinha, Regional Director, NPC Kolkata delivered the Key Note address. He emphasized on the implementation of workshop presentation and energy saving recommendations for efficient & safe operation of Boilers by the boiler users. Sri P Roy Chowdhury, Ex-Secretary, IDA (EZ), gave the Vote of Thanks.

The workshop was divided into three Technical Sessions. Session – I covered “Fuel Characteristics & Combustion Principles” which was taken by Sri A K Sinha, Regional Director, NPC Kolkata, Session – II was on “Boiler Safety, Inspection and Regulations & Preservation of Boilers” which was delivered by Sri B K Mondal, Joint Director of Boilers, Govt. of West Bengal, while the Post Lunch Session – III was deliberated by Dr S Biswas, Director, NPC Kolkata, on “ Efficient Boiler Operation and Boiler Efficiency Calculations and its importance with CDM benefits”. He also covered boiler house instrumentation requirement for effective analysis of boiler performance and boiler water treatment.

In the concluding Session, Sri T K Mukhopadhyay, Manager (Projects), W B Milk Federation & Convenor of the Workshop, Sri A K Sinha, Regional Director, NPC Kolkata And Sri S Biswas, Director, NPC Kolkata, informed the participants to ensure efficient operation of their boilers and also to contact NPC Kolkata in respect of any query relating to boiler operation and maintenance.

A total of about 45 participants from Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal Milk Federations/ Milk Unions, Private Dairies, Dairy Technology Deptt. of WBUAFS and some ZEC members of IDA(EZ) attended the workshop.
